I AGREE this block has lots of vehicle traffic and pedestrian traffic coming from the light rail.

Any updates on the street lighting evaluation?

Last night there was an accident on the corner of Garfield and Cator! A car hit parked cars! It’s so dark on this corner, drivers and pedestrians can’t see very well. It’s a safety issue, can you please provide an update on installing street lights on this corner? Much appreciated.

Checking in again to see if there’s been any progress on this request? The corner of Cator and Garfield is still very dark and dangerous for pedestrians and drivers at night. Existing street lights around this vicinity are out and not monitored for replacement. Please advise. Thank you.

Yet another car accident at this corner again this morning! When will something be done?!

Also, maybe a stop sign could be placed on Cator and Garfield? Or speed bump on Garfield approaching Cator? Cars are usually speeding down Garfield causing serious accidents! Not to mention, heavy pedestrian traffic to and from the light rail and more safety measures is needed. Please provide an update.

Another auto incident last night on the corner of Cator and Garfield Avenue! A car hit my sons car, taking off his side view mirror and they did not stop! Any updates on this request from almost 3 months now?

Lighting upgrades/additions have been requested to be installed by PSE&G. Lighting upgrades were requested in the area of Garfield, Danforth, and Cator.

Hello. Do we know if PSEG will be placing upgrades for lighting soon? This corner is still very dark and dangerous.

I saw surveyors on the corners of Cator/Garfield/Danforth. Does this mean we may get an update soon? More school children and pedestrians will really benefit from a street light or something to help with crossing safely. In addition to less car accidents on this corner due to speeding vehicles.

New lights were ordered. PSE&G does not regularly notify us when they install the lighting. They install shortly after they receive shipment from their supplier. I have reached out to PSE&G for an update on this particular order and will report back with any findings.

The survey work is likely for utility work in the area.
