I totally agree with my neighbor. We live on Cimarron (since 1973) and it is the main street in the subdivision. Our street looks like a war zone. The front of the sub (off Canal Rd.) still looks like new. However, coming up from 18 Mile Road, it looks horrible. I take my dog for a walk daily, and in the past two years I have fallen three times from all the rocks and deep holes and ruts. We live directly across the street from a cul de sac. All the concrete chunks look absolutely terrible. With all the construction either on Garfield or Hayes, our street becomes the thoroughfare. The school busses already go down our street and that is fine. However, we now have lots of work traffic (detouring down the street), construction traffic , and many speeders. We have had meetings at the township facilities only to be told that if we want it fixed, we should have to pay for it. Our neighborhood friends have down this twice. We shouldn't have to pay for this. The county continues to waste money by patching the roads only to have rain, traffic, and the snow plows destroy it even more (ex. make the holes deeper). It is disgusting and dangerous. I love my home and neighbors and we all keep up our homes. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay for replacing our street. The county and the township together should repair our street.
