Absolutely idiotic! How many decades has it been 2 lanes each way and even with the big turning lane in the middle, they didn't add a turning arrow at Ashland. I pity the people on the residential streets surrounding the area because everyone is going to be using them instead of MacDade!

Blame PennDot. After two fatal accidents at Gardner Ave and lawsuits this is the result.

It is horrible. Only One lane,but people still use it as 2. cars passing on your left and right thinking its still 2 lanes. Maybe I will start shopping elsewhere, I think it would be safer going to Springfield!! This waS not A WELL THOUGHT OUT PLAN!!!

We have lived in Glenolden for 67 years and have never seen such as mess. More folks will be using Chester Pike. Figured the two motorcycle accidents had something to do with it but wouldn't it have been easier to make E. Gardner Avenue a one way street the other way so people aren't turning with trailers across traffic.

It was working so well for too many years, and somebody was just itching to show you how she could fix it. Truly one of the dumbest DELCO moves in years. More gas sold. More taxpayers ignored.

I think this is great, people need to slow down and stop driving like idiots. I commend Glenolden for this change. Now I think Ridley Township needs to wake up and do the same thing. Then the next thing will be the cameras for the people who run the red lights. Everyone around here brings this upon themselves for the irresponsible driving. On a final note, the other people who contribute to this happening are the people who cut through our neighborhoods along Macdade from Philadelphia to Chester, they don't know how to drive either. At Macdade and Garner, they should turn Garner into a 1 way street with no entrance from Macdade Boulevard. That street is too small with parking on both sides.

Politicians , always think they know what is better. Now when I go to exit my street I cannot make a left turn. MacDade is backed up and if you get through the one lane of traffic you don’t know who is driving down the center of the road in the turning lane. What a big mess. A lot of people wasting gas just to drive around this fiasco. Brigg back the 2 lanes each way if you need a turning lane then widen the road and put people back to work. Don’t make the residents waste fuel driving around this mess. Better yet elections are coming up don’t vote for these Glenolden politicians

From what I see, it's not completed yet and it looks like they're attempting to do the same thing that they did on Chester Pike. I find traveling on Chester Pike much easier now with the turning lanes, and once they get Mac Dade straightened out it should be better there as well. I agree that it is a complete mess at this time and the transition should have been better planned.

trying to get my son to school is a nightmare. The patterns are terrible. Please rethink & change them!

Just an FYI. This road project was done by PENNDOT, due to the fatalities that have occured on this stretch of road in recent years. I suggest that you contact your local state rep to lodge a complaint.

Sounds just like a politician passing up the ladder to nowhere land. Borough know what is going on in their areas. It should have been addressed locally

I think everyone should just stop complaining and deal with the new traffic patterns. They are here to stay so suck it up. I wish they would do this all the way down MacDade Boulevard, this would take care of the people who think it is a race track.

I feel bad for the people who live on Academy Rd. Now there will be increased traffic from people trying to avoid the log jam from South Ave to Ashland. It is a nightmare.

It wasn't Glenolden Borough, it was PENN DOT who made the decision, time to go to our Local Representatives to get it fixed.

The local Glenolden Borough is responsible they are the republicans that support the local representatives. They were notified of these changes and did nothing about it months ago.

Since when did we need a right hand lane just to turn right at South Ave. Are you going to make the other side of the street a right hand turn also. now your straight lane turns to a left hand turn so everybody is changing lanes more than ever before. I agree this has no ryhmn or reason to it.

This new traffic pattern is a nightmare!!!!! Other than an arrow letting you know you need to merge you don't know until the last minute..I've seen so many accidents almost happen due to this change especially when it drops down to one lane past south ave in front on the lukoil..Some signs or something would of be nice or here's an even better idea bring the other lane back

Now what is Glenolden going to do? There have been several accident on MacDade at Grays Avenue. People trying to merge after the road is limited to one lane. There are more accidents in the past 2 months then there was over the last 10 years. Whom ever made and agrees with this decision must not drive.

Looks like there is an accident a week along this road now. Some pencil pusher on Borough council who doesn't even stay in town on the weekend probably made this change. The should be fired and made to stand in the middle of the road with a dunce hat on.

2 accident here is the last week in front of the Glenolden School. wow this new traffic pattern is working great. Maybe they should just turn chester pike and Macdade into one ways.
