This area needs curb extensions and loading zones. It’s unsafe for pedestrians because there’s nowhere for deliveries to be made.

S. What pedestrian and traffic safety elements would you like the city to consider?
J. 1. Traffic: Curb Extension/Daylighting Request (Curb extensions are traffic calming measures which improve sight lines and encourage slower turning speeds.)

The three highlighted sections are an illegal parking bonanza when they should be designated loading zones for actual deliveries.
The angle on 1st st, the highlighted section on the left, should get a curb extension that forces the cars to come at Newark closer to a 90 degree angle. Right now it’s a pseudo slip lane that is incredibly dangerous when crossing west to east.

This intersection needs a loading zone almost as badly as Jersey City government vehicles need to follow the law.
Pedestrians need protection stat.
