Q. Please describe the issue
A. Cars continue to speed up and down Montgomery St right in vicinity of where Cross St and Montgomery St intersect. Right near the gas station area. This has been a problem for years and nothing has been done to resolve the issue. With the latest tragic incident that occurred last weekend, you would have thought there would have been more police presence in this area stopping these speeders, however, I have not seen one patrol car in this area since the crash last week. The cars are flying so fast that they are hitting small holes in the road which is creating a very loud thump that penetrates the homes in the area. This needs to be looked into ASAP! The speeders need to be pulled over and ticketed and something needs to be put in place that prevents speeding in this area. Speed bumps, traffic light where Cross St intersect Montgomery. Something needs to be figured out quickly before more accidents occur. The noise from these cars that are flying at high speeds needs to be looked into, It is not good for anyone's hearing. It even permeates your ears in your own house.
