Mr. Chaphalkar: I spoke with the head of our water division, and from the description you gave, this sounds like a leaking sewer line. Reason: A leaking water line would mean water under pressure, and it should be "gurgling" out of the ground. Caved in dirt sounds to him more like a sewer line, which is handled by the Lansing Public Service Department. I will send this information to the director of public service.

I am the new owner of this property and I continue to see the same issues with the dirt and lawn caving in. Can Lansing Public Service Department confirm whether this was addressed and any action taken? I appreciate any assistance you're able to provide.

It's been another month and I would like to resolve this. If there is no response to this post I will contact the Lansing Public Service Department directly.
