Temporary removal of the curb to allow two lanes for cars turning onto Union from 14th street (to access 95) would reduce traffic and allow better flow. Re-routed traffic from the Union bridge construction has forced many vehicles to take this route. If a vehicle is turning left onto Union, traffic behind can miss an entire light cycle or two waiting. Widening the road just a foot or two by temporarily removing the curb would fix this problem.
