I imagine they are doing so out of desperation and to vent frustration. I have never once had the JCPD show up for a noise complaint. Ever.

Well then I'd call the District Commander the following day and file a report -- also if the neighbors get involved & also call the police then maybe the police would show up

I am not the person who posted, but I personally have never had any response to noise complaints or any improvement despite getting in touch with city council and police commissioner. I think it's a widespread issue, and I think folks post here so that 1) maybe there's an off chance the loud neighbors see it despite being jerks in real life 2) so that there's a trail of written evidence to point to that is helpful when making the complaints to city council and the police (even though they don't ever improve things). Jersey City has a noise quality of life problem, and I don't blame folks for using any/all/every platform available in trying to navigate this, especially in the summer months when it's really very bad.
