Description
The signals at Elm and West Bridge St are triggering left turn arrows when there are no cars waiting to turn left. Same is happening by the River's Edge Hospital signal.

Unfortunately, we do not have a fix for Elm and Bridge at this time. With shadows from the buildings, calls are missed by the camera certain times of day if we don't set a minimum time. We will take another look to see if other phases have faults.
The loop at Sundial and Queen City will be replaced in the Spring.

Thanks for the information and double-checking.
Would this possibly require a replacement of the camera detection system, either with a different camera setup or some other mode, like radar or loops? If so, is this something that the DPW has funding for, or is that pending?

Hi again - I just saw that Congressman Pappas has secured ~850k in funding for traffic signal upgrades along Elm St downtown. Based on that, I have a couple questions:
1. Would this funding reach or be able to address this intersection?
2. Would the funding include modernized pedestrian signal and buttons to include countdown timers and APS? That would be *huge* for walkability in our downtown!!

Oh, not sure why SeeClickFix ate my message, but that should’ve said something along the lines of
“Thanks for the information. Hopefully an opportunity will come up in the future for Elm St signal improvements, such as adaptive and/or video detection. Additionally, please consider any pedestrian crossing improvements, including countdowns and APS push buttons. Where possible, please also consider reusing existing mast arms to reduce cost and allow more to be accomplished project-wide.”

The pedestrian wait at this intersection is completely unacceptable.
Please advocate for/push for/fight for/request any necessary funding to help improve this terrible traffic signal situation here. Right now, this is just encouraging pedestrians to unsafely cross against a “don’t walk” signal…and they do.
Please also consider a retrofit to allow concurrent pedestrian crossing to improve service and wait times here (potentially with an LPI/lead pedestrian interval). This intersection is set up well for FYA (flashing yellow arrow) operation on the exclusive right turn lanes to support concurrent pedestrian crossing too.
