The west bound traffic light at the off ramp from 19 (at the Ulmerton intersection) should be extended to allow more cars to pass through the green light.▶Archived
I must apologize, I indicated the wrong direction on the initial post. The light I'm referring to is the East bound light, getting onto Ulmerton, from the South bound US 19 offramp. Sorry for any confusion this may cause. Just today, Jan. 12th, cars had to wait approximately 15 minutes, sitting through 3 light cycles, to enter onto Ulmerton.
This intersection is under the Pinellas County Traffic Operations jurisdiction. I understand that in early 2011 there was a similar complaint for the intersection; however, I was not made aware of the results of that inquiry.
The City's Engineering Division has notified Mr. Norman Jester of Pinellas County Traffic Operations of your complaint. He said he would log this complaint and perform another analysis of the light timing over a 24 hour period. Unfortunately, you did not mention a time when the light is timed inadequately, so the 24 hour review will need to be done. When, or if, I hear anything about the review of the light, I'll be sure to forward same to you.
Thank you for your response. I will attempt to reach out to Norman and make him aware of the appropriate time to monitor the intersection (around 8 AM, M-F).
