At the intersection of 100 St and 100 Ave, the crosswalk countdowns on opposite sides of the intersection don't count down in sync.

Whenever there has been a turning advance, one crosswalk ends way before the other crosswalk. This makes absolutely no sense - why are pedestrians on one side of the intersection expected to stop before pedestrians on the other side of the intersection? When signals make no sense, people rightly ignore them. And when people ignore signals, unsafe circumstances are the result.

It would be nice if the people who program the crosswalks actually ever tried walking around downtown. I get the sense that the City doesn't have any concern about the walkability of downtown.
