Can you clarify what you think was painted incorrectly? Is it the utility cut you are referring to? If yes, We will send out someone to investigate the signs as a vehicle is never allowed to park in a T intersection nor that close to a crosswalk. Parking Enforcement should be notified so they can come out and ticket.

Following up on request to fix the crosswalk and also make sure proper signage is in place for no parking on that side.

The crosswalk isn’t painted completely since at time of painting, a car was illegally parked there despite no parking posters. Previously, city said they would ensure contractor came back and painted the full crosswalk but a long time has passed and that has not occurred. In the meantime, drivers often park here illegally.

We are waiting to complete the city paving list before we can prioritize the the intersections.

Sorry, I know these are two different issues, but I am consolidating by intersections so nothing gets lost.

To clarify, this was a case of a contractor not properly/completely painting the intersection. Can the contractor not be made to come and complete the job they were paid to do?

The street was repaved in the last two years.

Yeah, I was assuming this was a pedestrian safety request, not that it isn't, but I had to reacquaint myself.

It has been too long since the contractor paved and striped, but for some reason, this was not on our striping list, when we drove the streets looking for where striping needed to be updated. Probably because it is easy to miss. Thanks to your reminder, it now is and will probably get done soon now that our striping contractor has started working for the season.

Skillman Ave & Van Winkle Ave
Issues:
1) Crosswalk never completed after resurfacing. The corner of the crosswalk on the south side of Van Winkle [last two bars] are not done.
2) Vehicles parking illegally in the T-Zone of the intersection.
3) Parked vehicles blocking the view of pedestrians trying to cross the street.
4) Drivers not yielding to pedestrians.

Requests:
1) Complete crosswalk striping.
2) Make sure proper No Parking signs are installed.
3) Clear the corners of parked cars.

Question:
1) When you say parked at the corners, do you mean also the other corners?

The full striping will happen soon, if it has not already. This issue will remain open to address all of the safety issues.

Hi Althea, we do not have any speed bumps on this road and the left turning lane at JFK causes drivers to act insanely and speed. Cars start to make the road two lanes (which it is not) at the crosswalks to get to the turn lane around cars going straight. This is endangering pedestrians. The turn lane should be removed. This small street has a crossing guard its so dangerous. I am sharing images of how people park in the crosswalks and right up to the cross walks on Skillman and Van Winkle. If we had bump outs this would protect the crosswalk and prevent this parking. There is only parking allowed on weekends. Parking should be permitted at all times to help narrow the roadway. It is shown that narrow road ways make cars drive slower. This pic is skillman looking down van winkle.

its my understanding that its illegal for cars to park this closely to crosswalks and yet there is no signage telling cars not to park like this

Parking in the T zone is also illegal across the State.
