Q. Please describe the issue
A. Carew St is very busy and cars drive fast. There has been many car accidents in the past. This isn’t a safe street for pedestrians to cross even with crossing lights. It is extremely unsafe for school aged children to cross. I have witnessed cars not obeying the law and passing a bus stop sign and lights as children were crossing. Carew St is intersected with East St in Chicopee. This is another high traffic area which has reports of car accidents. Cars drive faster than the speed limit. These streets are unsafe for children to cross at anytime. I suggest moving bus stop to a closer destination like Rochester St or Royalton St. These are low traffic streets much safer for children to get on and off the bus.
