Description

Traffic at this intersection (old Highway 431 & Hampton Cove Way) can be chaotic. I am writing to address concerns I have for this intersection. Following are just a couple examples.
1. I have seen several cars rear ended as they are pulling from Hampton Cove Way to Old 431. (My daughter was rear ended a couple years ago.) It is very hard to tell which lane cars are in when they come from the McMullen Cove Way direction towards the 431 intersection, esp given the speed limit of 55 mph and the bend/curve of the road.
2. As people are trying to turn onto Hampton Cove Way, coming from the direction of the 431 intersection, cars from the RTJ golf course pull into the middle of the intersection as they try to get onto Old 431 heading towards the 431 intersection. Sometimes they pause, as to let those trying to get on Hampton Cove Way continue on, or sometimes they just keep going. It’s hard to tell what they are going to do.
The intersection is busy, the speed limit seems high and it can be visually difficult to judge the traffic.
I hope you will consider measures to make this intersection and some of the other intersections on Old 431 safer for all drivers, whether traffic lights, roundabouts, etc.
Thank you, I know we are a growing community and there will be much to be done to keep up.
