This is one of the busiest and most congested intersections in all of Charlotte, especially between the hours of 4PM-6PM. It's just an accident waiting to happen. The incoming traffic on either side is unable to move onto Albermarle Road due to the intersection being blocked by other drivers trying to beat the RED light. The drivers trying to turn left onto Regal Oaks often cannot because they are blocked by other drivers. Drivers turning right onto Albermarle Road can't turn or the drivers turning left onto Albermarle Road because they are also blocked. No one knows on either side who has the right of way. The drivers on the left turn onto the further lane and vice versa on the other side. I think there would be less congestion and less risk of accidents if the stop lights were regulated better, meaning they don't go at the same time but one at a time. I am a concerned driver with a teenage son that frequents this intersection. What could you do to help myself and the many other drivers on the long ride home?
