Description
On Division between the interactions of 'I' street and Sprague there is no traffic calming. This is a straight away, with no lights, no stop signs, no roundabouts, no bike lane, and in addition is an extra wide street, which adds to the problem. Since there are no barriers, it's is perceived as no risks, and as soon as drivers head west on Division, there is no 'calming' until Sprague. The cars drive way too fast and is a hazard for kids trying to cross the street, cyclists, and those that need to park on the street. Are there plans to add a median with trees or official parking spaces. The speed and influx of frustrated drivers has increased and has made a urban walking community, fearful.

Requests for neighborhood traffic calming circles are processed by the city's Neighborhood Programs engineer. Unfortunately, this position is currently unfilled, so requests for traffic calming circles and other neighborhood traffic calming devices are on hold for now.
As part of staffing and restarting the program, the Neighborhood Programs Engineer will take a data driven approach to update and prioritize future locations. Residential streets and priorities such as fatalities/serious injuries, proximity to schools/transit/public facilities, will likely be incorporated in that update.
I will keep this request open so that successful applicant will have access to these requests.
