I have not received an update on this after I was told it would be reviewed. I will follow up on Monday on this issue. Unless something has changed in the situation, then let me know.

The traffic engineers met with the developer when they submitted the traffic permit. The striping plan was developed by a Professional Engineer and approved by our professional Traffic Engineer.

The northbound bus stop was moved south of Metro Plaza Drive while the temporary configuration is in place.

This plan was felt to be the best for the area and puts pedestrian safety first.

Thank you for look into this. Some local residents still feel unsafe. We'll keep monitoring and update with a new request if needed.

Has a professional engineer visited the site and monitored the traffic reactions to the lane shifts, not just the paper plans. Sometimes what works on paper doesn't translate to human actions on the street.

They have and our engineers have been out because sometimes they don't do what they will say on paper and then we have to take away their permit and that means their work stops until they make it right.

It was a tough call taking away a travel lane.

Just wanted to share my experience since I think it's relevant in this case.

I was recently traveling on the left lane headed north bound on Marin Blvd on a raining night. I was about to reach Thomas Gangemi Drive when I had to swerve from the left lane to the right lane quickly. The reason for the swerve was a car headed east on 6th street turned right and incorrectly went on my lane (my guess is the did not realize it was only one lane headed south on Marin). They eventually moved to the single south lane. We where able to avoid an accident but I can see a situation where a more distracted driver could have faced a head on collision.

Yesterday I forwarded this comment to the Traffic Engineering staff so they know the situation. I will let you know when I hear back from them.
