Just a comment: AP Rounds park has had the same fence configuration for more than 50 years. The town has kept it in good condition. The park is in the best shape it has ever been in with the addition of the new equipment paid for by local residents and businesses who adopted the park and renovated it. Perhaps that same group could raise money for a fence if enough people felt it was needed. I can't recall a single incident of a child being struck by a car at or near the park and I have lived near it for many years.

I suggest putting this up for an article at Town Meeting and I believe it would be approved in Record time.

Let's do this. And soon I hope. Our children deserve 100 per cent safety in their playtime. It's amazing to me that in a town with a $ 70 million budget and taxpayers paying a School Debt and Budgets with available Rentals, Fees, etc. all over town, that we have to be here while paying all new computers, furniture for school lounges, higher property insurance and auto insurance, subsidizing pensions, why can't at least take about $ 5 from each parents 'Sports Fees' and direct it to this A.P. Rounds Cause. Never in my over 60 years of living here have we had to worry about a fence at a playground. Set up a Paypal as we did with the Class of '82 and we can get this done in less than a week. We raised $ 30 Million in about three minutes if I remember correctly. ...Frank Pignone

Any updates? I noticed the new fence at munchkin park. Which was wrecked by the snow plow.

I greatly appreciate when groups come together to raise money to update great assets such as parks. However to put everything that is needed in this town back on the tax payer to raise money for example this post; a fence to keep children safe while at the park. That is great there has not been an incident but why wait until there is one?! The TOWN should now figure out the funds and put up a fence! I am not trying to be rude towards "residents" post but it took a lot to raise that money, it should not be back on that group to provide a fence.

Any updates?

Town will review again and make determination in the Spring.
