The garbage on my street (about 105 homes) was never picked up per the contract between Hoover and Amwaste. It sat there until the next pickup day, so no loss for Amwaste. In the private sector Amwaste would be fired by now. In the public sector I guess yall are trying to work with them. I'm ok with that (and the city of Hoover), however they should have to accrue penalties. Then then can pay the penalty or use that money to buy another truck. The problems is they try to "threat a fine needle" by not purchasing enough equipment to service the routes. Im leaving this issue "open" until I see Amwaste has read this message. Thanks !

Amwaste can handle Hoover just fine, if they will add 2-3 leased Garbage trucks plus 2-3 drivers. Problem is they low bid, and revenue from Hoover is not enough to cover the cost of adding 2-3 garbage trucks and they try to "threat a needle" of having just enough trucks and drivers to account for a best case scenario (not accounting for vehicle maintenance or "long days" etc). Hoover is paying additional funds from adding about 200-250 new construction homes a year, but Amwaste is not doing anything. I do NOT blame Hoover, except to enforce the terms of the contract. The main issue is Amwase as I described the problem in this message. Thanks !
