Description

Southbound MLK, left-turn lane to turn East onto NE 36th. Since Tuesday, May 5, the light is malfunctioning and seldom gives you a left turn arrow. Sat through 3 full cycles Tuesday before it finally gave me and about 20 other cars the opportunity to turn left. May 6, I waited through 4 complete cycles, about 12 minutes. It never turned green. Traffic was backing up creating congestion south bound on MLK at 36th. People were jumping back into the straight-ahead lane causing many close calls and creating much more congestion on NE 23rd and MLK, which is already a very busy intersection at rush hour. I have driven this way every day for the last 6 years and the problem just started Tuesday.
