This has not been ignored. Simply put the number or vehicles travling there has increased over the years. Also being a main roadway for emergency vehicles (Police cars, Fire department equipment and EMS) they have the ability to change the light green in their direction of travel which if you have two responding from different directions it screws up the timing anyway.
