Description
Garbage in the bushes, in the alley area all around the dumpster. Homeless use the bushes as their garbage can and the alley always has garbage from/near the dumpster.
Why do good Samaritans have to pick up all the garbage and file codes compliance complaints? Can't the city address the disorder of the sidewalks?

I have to agree with this. I recently posted a code compliance complaint, and that has taken a few weeks to filter through the process. The good news was that the plalltes that had been left in the alley between Snell Arcade and the Historic Post Office have been removed. The bed news is that the onus was not put on the business that was causing the problem (one of the restaurants on the 400 block of Central), and much of their detritus (discarded latex gloves, cigarette butts)were not cleared. Neither was all of the trash left by our unhomed neighbors.
The process as is just doens't tackle many of the code compliance issues in a timely manner. I'd like to see the people who generate the mess be held responsible for taking care of it.

Sanitation only removes trash and recycling, property held in containers. Large or excess items from the alley or curb as special pick-ups, if reported. It is the abutting homeowner's responsibility to maintain the easement of their property. Failure to maintain the easement on private property could be identified as a potential violation of the municipal property code. As such, you must resubmit this report using the SeeClickFix category labeled ‘Codes Compliance.’ You may also call your report to the Codes Compliance Department at 727-893-7373. Either way, you will be asked to provide your name and address.
Additionally, You may report any litter to the Keep Pinellas Beautiful Litter Hotline at 727-210-GONE (4663) or complete their online form at www.kpbcares.org.
