Mô tả
On Gerry St, between Main St and Pine St, those who commute through Stoneham to the freeway love to avoid the traffic signal at Main St and Summer St by cutting through Gerry St at extremely high speeds.
Could we get signs installed on Gerry St to slow people down and decrease the signal length of the Main St/Summer St traffic signal so people don't feel the need to cut around it?

Please clarify this request and supply more information.
Problem time during the day – Example: 5 – 7 AM
Direction of travel - Example: Vehicles Southbound on Main Street turn left heading eastbound on Gerry Street and turn right onto Pine Street.
Narrowing down the time of day and direction of travel will aid the Department in resolving this issue faster. It will also enable proper notification of the Police Department for support.
Thank you.

The Department of Public Works does not have the authority to place restrictions on street usage as suggested. A request to the Police Department will be made to patrol the area during the morning.
The traffic signal timing is balanced between Summer, Marble and Main Street to provide the best flow possible during congestion. Increasing green signal timing on Summer Street would result in longer delays on Main and Marble Street. This may also have a negative impact on Gerry Street as vehicles traveling Southbound on Main Street may turn onto Gerry heading east to avoid the light.
At this time it is suggested a written letter be sent to the Town Administrator with the requested changes so they can be properly approved and implemented.
