Cars use 58th Street and Martin as a shortcut between Telegraph Avenue and Claremont. Cars often exceed the speed limit on 58th Street and fail to stop or yield the right of way to pedestrians at the intersection with Ayala.

Agreed! People fly down this street at speeds over twice the posted speed limit. It is a major safety hazard in the neighborhood

I couldn't agree more. This is a major, major issue. There are lots of children on this street, and cars frequently travel down the street at unsafe speeds.

Anything to get people to drive slower on 58th St. Traffic circle sounds more effective.

This is a great idea, we have a difficult time getting our kids into the car during morning commute hours because people drive so fast. One parent needs to stand "watch" while the other straps them in, the chance of getting sideswiped it too great, we have had several close calls. People will not even slow down as you help your toddler into the car.....the same people every day on the way to work. It is after all built as a residential street. This route is also a common pedestrian corridor to BART.
