Wow another place that has been reported over, over, and over again. Does Oakland ever come up with any kind of solutions to neglected properties, illegal dumping , and the homeless? So far that would be a no.

I'm considering calling 1-800-JUNK to see if they'll come remove this stuff. Think they'd do it?

They'd probably do it faster..

it was cleaned up outside the gates, however, inside the grates trashs is piled everywhere. There has already been 1 fire there, it's only a matter of time before something really serious happens

That's exactly why I didn't say thank you. I figured it was half done. It's only a matter of time. Why aren't the owners held accountable?

Not that I know of but she must be related to someone to get away with this for many years now. Apparently, she owns several blighted properties in the neighborhood, in similar condition

I always try to thank OPW because they do what they can do. It's not their job (nor are they legally able) to go onto private property to clean up - that's the property owner's responsibility. If this property owner steadfastly refuses to clean up this dangerous, blighted property, it may be time for neighbors to take them to court. (Note: I haven't looked into the specifics of this, just saying that if the City of Oakland won't do something, we, as neighbors, may have to do it ourselves.)

Chris, that's so true wasn't thinking about the yard part. WOak neighbor i'm speechless that this issue hasn't been addressed, but not surprised.

Chris, I have been in touch w/ Christina Lim at the City Atty's office who tells me that they are going after the owner on nonpayment of taxes. I would think that having had a fire there recently, it should be condemned as a fire hazard and danger to the immediate neighbors. But I keep getting the same answer "they are working on it" so . . . trying to be patient

Hopefully something will be done this time, but since it's a fire hazard something needs to be done now.
