I recently experienced sitting at this light for 10 minutes during rush hour as I waited for the opportunity to turn onto Grumman heading South on 7. This is a huge safety hazard as you are left with no other options but to take a calculated risk to turn even when cars are speeding upon you. A left turn signal needs to be put in immediately.

As a parent of a new driver living off of Grumman Hill Rd. I am very concerned with this intersection. Making a left at most times of the day is difficult, but particularly during rush hours. You take your life in your hands trying to make a left while cars traveling north are speeding ahead. Will this only be addressed once someone gets fatally hurt? Please assess this situation and address it before someone gets hurt.

would love to see this changed - it is the craziest intersection especially since north bound gets a jump on the green light with an arrow timed for a left into a private business. South bound has to sit and wait - and due to the timing of the lights further down, cars come in waves that make it impossible to turn unless you turn on the red light. PLEASE CHANGE THIS!

I completely agree - this intersection is a joke! Are they going to hand out fines for idling when the new idle law goes into effect in September?

Very difficult to understand why this issue has not been addressed before! Locals can't turn while employees at ASML have the right of way! Please fix. Thank you for bringing this subject to authorities.

When driving southbound on Route 7, it can be very challenging, sometimes nearly impossible, to make a left turn onto Grumman Hill Road. We are also very concerned that drivers (especially new, younger drivers) may become impatient and turn left across oncoming traffic, taking a risk that could result in a serious, possibly fatal accident. Please make this change a priority.

This intersection so needs an arrow! Attempting to take a left onto Grumman Hill Road while going southbound on Route 7 is one of the scariest things! Just yesterday I saw a truck barely miss a car that was taking a left onto Grumman. 9 out of 10 times I have to wait for the light to turn red before I can make the left. If it comes down to $$ - let us know what it is....I'd rather pay a little something than the alternative.

121 days since we registered this issue and nothing has happened!

I have some good and bad news about the intersection.

The good news is the State DOT will be putting in turning lanes on both northbound and southbound sides of Danbury Rd at the Grumman Hill Rd. intersection. This will make it a safer intersection and will help with the traffic flow as was requested in all the e-mails I received.

Now for the bad news. As with anything with the State you need to be patient. Due to a variety of factors, the project will not start for approximate 2 – 3 years. I have been advised that this is normal for a project of this magnitude.
