You are out of your mind. Driver should be paying attention, knowing the kids are there and not be in the intersection any way. Keep in mind, Woodland and HIghland = school

I totally agree! I pass by 2 other schools before i get home and have no problems, the minute i get to her intersection, i have to wait and wait and wait for my turn to pass. I know she is there for the safety of the kids but the way she does it causes more confusion than help anyone. I did see the incident where the car had to back up and it was ridiculous. I always forget to avoid this intersection and end up frustrated.

@ naj yes understandable a school but the people were not there til the car was in the middle of the intersection an she got in front of car an made the car backup like for what the car was already through and the people were crossing a different way then car was going

She definitely should not have made the car back up. That was insane. I have seen other crossing guards wait for the car to pass and then cross the kids.

backing up could be worse, I agree, I do think some of the guards need better training

but the driver has to be attentive too. today, a guard stood and did nothing with his back to the kids crossing Kearny ave. I could not believe it

@naj the driver was alert she told the driver to go and then decided when she saw the people almost coming to the crosswalk she decided to stop the car and make them back up which was very stupid....they all need to b trained especially the one on stewart an kearny ave she always screamin at people an the other day she takin the stop sign and making humping gestures wit it screamin something while in the doorway of the cafe this is wat our town hires its pathetic

OMG. I have heard remarks on the guard on Stewart. Never heard that before. That is awful

The guards do need to take their job seriously and maybe BETTER training is in order.

I wonder, however, if they get frustrated with impatient drivers. Not an excuse, They need to report a bad situation, as some drivers just don't care. Yesterday I was at the light at Bergen and Belgrove. Bergen was blocked off due to a parade. There was no were for me to go while waiting for the two cars in front of me. The guy/girl behind me decided it was a good ideas to lay on his/her horn.

This crossing guard has stopped traffic with a line of cars behind me to wait for a kid who was 4 houses away from the corner. Rediculous.

It seems this is still ongoing; twice this week someone was crossing and almost was hit by a car due to the conversations the guard was engaged in with the group that congregates on the corner.

I have a complaint about Woodland and Highland Avenue The people in their cars don't watch the kids as a crossing guard is trying to cross the kids she tells them to stop and they yell and scream and curse at her as she's crossing the kids they try to hit her as she's crossing the kids so people need to learn to have respect and listen to the crossing guard instead of not listening to the crossing guard she's doing the best she can she stops the car she crosses the kids right she makes our kids safe so if any complained about is the people double parking and not listening to the crossing guard

All Crossing Guard Should Be Like The Crossing Guard On Woodland And Highland ave a Cop Should See What Goes on Her corner Some of the parents are very rude and disrespectful don't listen to the rules don't cross in the crosswalk don't listen to the crossing guard and she tells him to walk in the crosswalk and they don't walk in the crosswalk how she almost gets hit by a car trying to save the kids and the parents that don't listen to walk in a crosswalk how some of the people in the cars cursing yelling and screaming at the crossing guard for doing her job my personal opinion if you don't like the crossing guard take a different route

my opinion is that the teachers should lead by example and not jay walk by the schools.

I live at this intersection of Highland and Woodland avenues, She is the best crossing guard the town has. Of course there is a line of cars at dismissal time!! Try getting to your car that's parked but blocked in by rude parents who expect you to wait until they get their kids to move their cars.And don't even get me started on the people ripping up and down Woodland avenue and not stopping when someone is in the crosswalk as is the law in this town!! If she isn't there you would see how many accidents would happen.

The crossing guard on oakwood and kearny avenue ia pretty bad too

I pass by this corner on my way to work every single day while the guard at Highland and Woodland is on duty. I have NEVER seen an issue with her AT ALL. My daughter is taken to school by her caretaker each day via that corner and also has ZERO complaints.

I have seen this woman need to jump in front of vehicles just to get them to pay attention and stop while children are in the crosswalk.

Somone of importance in this town, please close this issue. She has nothing but respect and love for our children and she shows it everyday.
