i hear ya, ben, and agree, but perhaps during rush hours they could make it more of a push per ped, and then during the day allow for more stopping times. (don't know if the traffic timers can be configured like that though...)

Of course rush hour means more pedestrians too.

If Traffic and Parking do look at this they should check out the ped button on the NW corner - it was jammed in for a while making the ped light go every cycle but now is jammed out so the poor peds get no light ever - tough for those of us trying to walk kids to school.

Slower traffic is better. Check out this Dutch traffic light - take that red light runners!

That is awesome. I would totally want to jump that on my bike. :)

Not sure how much sense that makes - the buttons you have to press to cross the street all over the city are frequently broken and if you don't have an automatic ped cycle you might never get the chance to cross. Late at night there are often no cars coming down a cross street, but the traffic light still gives it a green light. I think same applies for pedestrian crossings.
