The pedestrian walk light appears to go on after every traffic light (even when there are no pedestrians in sight), thus slowing down traffic and creating longer wait times. Ped lights should only go on if pressed, right?

I actually like the way it is because there's a better chance for pedestrians to not have to wait as long.
