Deskripsyon

Pedestrians have the right of way at ANY intersection, whether marked or not, however this fact seems to elude many drivers. Adding a flashing light crossing in this area would help drivers to SEE the pedestrians, and give pedestrians added safety.

There is a pedestrian cross walk at Sam Orcutt Way NE about 40 yards from Clearview. I would suggest using that if you think its unsafe to cross. Oregon Law says it is illegal for pedestrians to:
- Cross a street against a traffic signal
- Cross the street outside of a crosswalk without yielding to vehicular traffic
- Cross the street outside of a crosswalk at an intersection
- Proceed in a crosswalk in a manner that causes an immediate hazard to an approaching motor vehicle

mother of two appears not to understand that there IS a crosswalk at virtually every intersection (actually, there are four crosswalks at a typical intersection). The curbs extended constitute a crosswalk. It is immaterial as to whether or not the city has bothered to paint lines on the pavement. (ORS 801.220).
