Please be advised, our office is required to take certain information for all Housing and Property Maintenance compliances. As of June 20, 2012 all complaints regarding Housing and Property Maintenance must be accompanied with an offical Housing & Property Maintenance complaint form. The Property Maintenance Ordinance does not require the Town to investigate anonymous complaints. All form will be retained at the Office of Community Development at 100 High Street.

Why does a from need to be filled out to have a property cited for blight? Wasn't a new ordinance passed/updated for property maintenance in March? So your saying that the town doesn't have to do anything unless someone fills out a written complaint on the form? Lets just let people not take care of their houses and make the town and home values go down because you guys are too lazy to do your job the job our tax dollars pay for.. As long as no one puts in the form apparently homeowners can have trash everywhere and have overgrown laws etc. Its common sense, drive by and see these homes and you will know first hand instead of sitting in your office all day.

At this point in time we are working on close to 75 open cases with one Inspector. It is important that we obtain this information in order to identify the correct address and retain contact information. The Town is not required to follow up on anonymous Property Maintenance complaints.

Its not our fault you have so many open cases. If you are having issues handling them then you need to hire more people. It seems to me that this is just an excuse to do less work. The fact that some many cases are open is more of a testament to how much work your department has actually NOT been doing. Isn't there someone who goes around town to monitor these to begin with? Its not hard to just drive by these homes and see that they are real issues. DO SOME WORK!!!!

Please be advised that the subject property is owned by Bank of America who has been contact several times in an attempt to gain compliance. In accordance with the ordinance, a 30 day notice to abate was issued to the BOA on May 31st. The 30 days was up on Saturday the 1st and fines will statrt accruing against the property this week. If BOA still does not comply the Town may have to enter the property, clean up the blight and place a lien against the property for work related costs. The Town's property maintenance ordinance is based on State Law and we are doing everything we can to ensure the law is being followed. We appreaciate your patience will we work to obtain compliance.

Its been far too long, is this property going to get taken care of or what? Not only does not having BOA clean the property make the whole town look bad it makes you look bad as well as they are in charge it seems.

Violations confirmed. Notice issued.
Upon further review, the correct address is 12 Jefferson Street. We are aware of the issues at this address and are working with the owners to obtain complance.
