Yes the City of Humboldt does have a mosquito control program. We apply larvacide to standing water that has indicators of the mosquito larva present; this larvacide has no adverse effects on the ecosystem or people. It is applied throughout the spring to fall season on City of Humboldt's right of ways and property; private residents and business owners are asked to ensure they have no stagnant or standing water on their property as this is where the mosquito larvae will be present evolving into the biting adult mosquito.
