I've been watching these signs show up as well...ALWAYS Queen size pillow top mattress. If someone were actually selling this item for $150 they've spent WAY more than $150 on all of the signs. I saw one today on Camp Kanata Road at 98. Also seen at Durant Road and Falls River Ave (right across from Durant MS), New Falls of Neuse and Wakefield Plantation Drive (near McDonalds). Very typically they show up near High Schools (seen near Heritage HS as well). If you had a mattress to sell, Craigs List would be a better place to sell it.

I will continue to take pictures and submit these signs since I feel there is something behind them. Also seen in Wake Forest at Forestville Road and Rogers Street (across from Wells Fargo bank) and at the intersection of Six Forks and Durant.

RPD has looked into this. The owner is, in fact, selling mattresses. He is just selling a few pieces at a time. We have warned him about the zoning violation of posting signs on the right-of-way, but it does not appear any more sinister than this. Thanks for keeping your eyes open, though!
