I live in 2000 N Capitol St NW (now 1 U St NW) and lost the shade those trees provided for the entire length of my house, as did my neighbors. I realize we should plant trees when possible, but there just really isn't enough space for large, healthy growth. A wider, smoother side-walk would really benefit the neighborhood.
