A whole school year has passed with kids riding this route 5 days a week and still no change.

A year has gone by with no improvement and no response. Many kids ride their bikes on this route to school each day and it is an accident waiting to happen.

It's disheartening to see a safety issue like this ignored for so long. This record will prove the city's liability if, God forbid, one of the children who ride this route 5 days per week falls and gets hit by a car as people speed by on Nimitz.

I have been advocating for over 4 years to have this section improved for our young riders commuting daily to school. Resurfacing is finally scheduled for Nimitz sometime between April-October and Brian Genovese from the city will be discussing designs at our next bike meeting on March 18 at 7pm at St. Peter's church. We are hoping to get a much improved and safer path for all active commuters.

This issue has been fixed satisfactorily by the complete repaving of Nimitz' entire length. Outstanding work, City of SD!
