After hitting my head once on a low hanging branch while walking my dogs, I started carrying pruners in my back pocket. Now if I encounter branches while walking on a sidewalk, I cut them off and leave them for the property owner to pick up. Since the city does nothing to enforce that the sidewalks are clear and maintained, I do it myself. I should send the city a bill for doing their job for them.
