The timing on your traffic signals is HORRIBLE for the eastbound Saginaw traffic needing to turn north onto 127. (and into the construction zone on 127). Only a few cars get to turn north at each signal and then they are stuck at another RED light backing up even more people. Traffic is backed up on Saginaw for half a mile at times. The flow sucks. I live near the intersection and had to drive half a mile west on Oakland just to find a street that would allow me to get back on Saginaw to drive back east to my home.
This is not necessary. Get your experts busy allowing more flow for those turning north and getting on the highway. it will work better for everyone.
It wouldn't hurt to get a traffic cop there at rush hour.for a while to keep the westbound Oakland drivers from exacerbating the issue by advancing west into northbound intersection even when it is obvious they will be stopped there in the middle of the intersection (illegal) and will block the northbound drivers.
If this is really a problem for East Lansing instead of Lansing, please forward.

Saginaw, Grand River, Homer and Howard are all state roadways and under the control of the Michigan Department of Transportation. The construction project along US-127 is also an MDOT project. We will forward this request to the MDOT Lansing Transportation Service Center for their review and action.
