Description
Numerous cars use this area breaking the speed limit and not yielding to the densely populated areas between the restaurants and the numerous apartment complexes, people use this street also to commute to the metro. A speed bump must be placed here, or an officer must be placed here for the summer high traffic times.

I've never understood why there are *four* lanes of traffic through Pentagon City on S. Joyce Street. Totally unnecessary given traffic volumes and only encourages drivers to speed.
There are quite a few blind people that live in the area, including one who lives in my building at Riverhouse. Improving the safety of the crosswalks would be a great benefit to them. Some of them are poorly lit so drivers don't see crossing pedestrians easily.

Even with officers here, it is a stop gap and they are primarily down the street to prevent crime from the mall.
The yield here simply needs to be converted into a stop sign. I witnessed a man nearly run over today and have had several close calls with vehicles recently.
