This is an on going issue! The code enforcement person went and spoke to the woman and she apparently convinced him they only work on their classic cars. Ha ha ha what a joke! I agree it's a constant issue that disrupts the peace and quiet of the neighborhood! My opinion is if the code enforcement won't do anything we need to start reporting it to the police. There are nuisance laws.

On Saturday, September 24th, 2016 there were three trucks blocking the alley and a customer waiting for her car. This issue should NOT be closed. It is an unresolved, on-going problem.

Ditto. The cars and loud noises continue! Cars coming and going, parked in the alley, grinding noises from body work. This shouldn't be closed! Different cars are in the alley EVERY DAY! Will daily photos of cars and license plates assist in shutting down this illegal garage? We are SICK OF IT!

Yes, this continues. At 4:57 pm on Saturday 10/1 a brownish-gold 4 door Mazda was dropped off for repairs. The gentleman dropping the vehicle off was heard stating "I'm gonna leave the keys under the floor mat so they can bring it round back to do the work. I'll pay 'em when I pick it up." Shortly after that two purple impala's came racing down the street, obviously speeding and incredibly loud. Obviously, the illegal car repair shop continues and I wasn't aware the City of St. Petersburg has apparently rezoned OSE to be commercial. Maybe we should all move our businesses to our homes and put up signs, think of the money it would save on business mortgages or rent!! Not to mention not having to pay the city more in property taxes for a business location downtown! Shame on me for running my company legally and honestly when you can get away with it illegally around here!

Will the code compliance officer visit in the evening?

Why are some of the results of this investigation kept private?
This needs to be resolved.
Resolution of running a business in a residential area means closing that business.

One of the friends visiting was overheard saying that he knows the code enforcers so...
If pictures are needed I have some along with some audio of the loud engine noise from their car repair shop. The code enforcers need to come by on the weeknights and weekends. They have regular jobs that they go to so the car repair shop is for side money when they're off. Saturday mornings seem to be the major time you see cars being dropped off for repair.

10/14- tow truck dropped off old blue SUV with front end damage. Another example of how they are "not" running an illegal car repair shop out of their backyard.

Why is this still open? Why has the business not been closed down? If this were downtown obvious to visitors would it be tolerated? There are numerous duplication of the issue reported as it is a code compliance issue which may need police intervention. Let's just have it resolved asap.

This tow truck was just dropping off another car just a few days ago. Auto body engine and body work goes on every evening with hardly a night off. I"m sick of it.

There has been NO resolution to the issue from the departments notified on this site.

This SeeClickFix issue is being closed because the Codes case (16-10044) attached to it was closed. There have been more recent reports on SeeClickFix that are being investigated. Please follow those reports and cases for the most up-to-date information. For activity such as illegal street parking or noise ordinance violations please contact the SPPD as they enforce those laws. Otherwise there is a current case regarding yard parking and there is an additional report of the illicit business that is being investigated.
