Rental Certificates for single family rentals are issued for three years. The owner is sent a letter notifying them they have paid the renewal fee and schedule an inspection date withing 60days. That is line indicating HOLD.

Figured the city would start charging the owner for the sheer amount of times the cops have to come to this address by now. Describing this house as a blemish on the neighborhood doesn't fit, it is an open infected wound in the neighborhood.

My neighbors and I want this home condemned in my neighborhood. The filth and vermin is a health hazard. The hoards of people living there are aggressive and have no concern for neighbors. Lansing continues to make good progress in bringing new business and construction to the area but does nothing to clean up the slumlord homes in the city. Home owners fund this city and its progress - we need the help of the city to maintain properties that slumlords own who do not live here. My tax assessment went up this year. Tell me ... Who will buy my house with this mess across the street?

Code Compliance sent a letter to the property owner on May 31st. The owner will have seven days to comply and at the end of the seven days the property will be reinspected. If not complied with the City will have their contractor clean-up the site.

That would be great if someone cleans it ip. As of today, June 6, 2016, garbage is still everywhere around the home and now there is an old boat paked in the front yard. Really.

Would we be able to get attention to this issue if we sue the city for not enforcing rental codes? For over 2 years we have been reporting 1624 and 1616 James St, Lansing 48906 and NOTHING has been done.

House and yard still has multiple families living in it, overgrown shrubs, railing broke off front porch, front porch contains mounds of garbage, yard has garbage and debris, garage door broken and an abandoned car blocking the sidewalk.
