Description
This intersection has needed a crosswalk signal for some time now. I know this was brought up to the mayor but it has been 4 years and this intersection still remains a pedestrian hazard. I have witness 5 accounts of people almost being struck by a car because there is no safe time to cross. One was a mom with a little baby in a stroller. So scary. Can't we please put in a crosswalk signal so people can cross safely. I hate to wait until someone gets hurt or worse killed before we do something about this dangerous intersection.

Thanks very much for your comments, Mr. Giardi.
Do you know what the city would advise pedestrians to do while waiting for this long-deferred project? I understand the reasoning behind tying the lights to the development of the corner, but people need to cross safely in the meanwhile.
This is probably not your responsibility, so I would appreciate it if you could refer this matter to the city department responsible for the safety of pedestrians at this intersection.
Thanks again.

The city needs to step up and get the state on board with putting in a crosswalk. People and children should not have to put their lives on the line to walk to and from school or work. Its ridiculous!

Dear Mr. Giardi,
The issue will be closed when pedestrians can safely cross.
Until the lights are installed, please advise how we may make this intersection safer for pedestrians.
If your department can do nothing, please suggest an alternative.
Thank you,
Peter Crowley

This could have been done when Mayor Driscoll was a councilor and Walgreens was looking to make Proctor St. a two way road.

I'm sorry to repeat myself, but the problem has not been fixed, and my questions remain unanswered.
Until the lights are installed, please advise how we may make this intersection safer for pedestrians.
If your department can do nothing, please suggest an alternative.
