Pamela, Citizen Contact Centre assigned this issue to Parks Operations

Currently there is not much maintenance that goes on in this area. It is considered a natural area. We are limited on what we can do in this area because the ground has had a history of "slumping" We do a bit of Noxious Weed control back there but we aren't able to do much because of the slumping. Alberta Government Regulations say we can't do weed control in areas that have slumped or could slump The roots from the grass and weeds helps to stabilize the ground.

We are aware of the erosion issues with that bank. I think the issue of concern is more so the long dry grass being a fire hazard.

Hello again, sorry for the late response. We were having a discussion within our department about this problem. Parks Management has a meeting set up for this Tuesday June 14th with the Fire Department to discuss the issue. We are going to discuss the area you are concerned about as well as similar areas throughout the City to come up with a solution. I hope this helps ease the concerns Coachman Village is having.
