Completely true, and since there isn't typically a lot of traffic on this stretch, cars pass through at breakneck speeds.

I have written alderman Burnett a heartfelt letter concerning the crosswalk at North Ave and North Park. I'm terrified that it will be me and my three kids in the news that lead to a change on North Ave. I've been trapped in the median daily walking to school and back. I've also been passed by city workers including police officers. It's infuriating and terrifying. What really boils my blood it the number of drivers who shake their heads or otherwise show irritation with ME for simply standing there. Or, the number of blaring horns I've heard when someone does stop. I don't think I'm going to hear back from Burnett. In that case does anyone know where I can buy a large orange flag to wave?
Perhaps other readers think I'm insane to dare cross the street at North Ave without more pedestrian markings. Before the law I used to go out of my way to cross with the crossing guard at Sedgwick. Honestly with all the cars turning every which way I was more nervous crossing there.

i'm not sure if even burnett sees these concerns posted on SeeClickFix from the people in his ward since I don't see him or anyone from his office on here. I've also posted a similar concern regarding another dangerous crosswalk between a school and a park near my house. That issue has received 80 votes and i'm still waiting for a response from someone with the city. i've also written a note to his office trying to make him aware of the issue and that his office should get on SeeClcikFix to better monitor the issues in his ward. But i doubt that i'll hear back from his office. If not, then i'm going to have to do it old school and physically go in there to see what they actually do in there.

Still unresolved - following up agin with Alderman and 311, but with potholes being so terrible I bet that takes priority nowadays.
