Beside the front door of the abandoned house is a louvered window which has been broken, seemingly on purpose, and allows trespassers access inside the house. Additionally, the yard is not being maintained for weed height and debris removal creating an eyesore.

Thank you for your e-mail to Mayor Peter Bober advising of your concerns with the property located at 2447 Van Buren Street. Your e-mail was forwarded to the City's Department of Community Development & Code Compliance for their investigation and response.
Lead Code Compliance Supervisor Jim McGee advised the following: "I completed this investigation. I issued a Notice of Violation for property standards that includes missing jalousie by front door and NW bedroom, Broken tile on roof, discolored tile roof, and deficient lawn. I also issued a violation for high grass and weeds. I contacted Officer Rios from Hollywood Police Department and he is already aware of the house. He and his fellow officers have not observed any criminal activity but, will continue to monitor the property on the afternoon and midnight shifts. This house has a key safe on the front door but, no real estate sign in the front yard. The property shows a private owner but, the property may be in an estate or in stages of foreclosure."
