My name is Anthony Lanci. 1 year ago I had a complaint about the snow lot next to my property at 268 smith street was being used as a dumping grounds. The DPW and town contractors had ground up blacktop from streets, material from sewer work in street, and other fill that smelled so bad we could not open my windows or turn on a fan. I contacted Mark Hollowell the director of public works and he had promised things would be done. After filling for complaint at the town hall everything he said would get done did get done and that included using the snow lot as a storage location for DPW material only. The DPW put in concrete blocks as a boarder so the town trucks would not dump past the blocks. The DPW also put up some fencing to block the view stone materials being stored there on site. This past weekend the contractor working for the town started storing there material for (assuming) a town job. The town contractor started moving the concrete blocks that the DPW installed last year to stop the piling of fill and other material. The SNOW LOT is not permitted for anything other than snow storage but I've lived at the smith street location for over 50 years and did not mind them using the area but every year the storage space gets bigger and bigger. Trucks run all night and backup horns also go on all night. There was no notification about the space being used for anything other than DPW storage.
