It's great to have someone looking out for our trees. A few yrs ago there was construction work on out street, & the machinery scraped off big sections of bark from the trees on our street. The trees survived but the wounds are still there.

Hi Wardell, that definitely shouldn't have happened; I hope the crew in question consulted with a certified arborist to assess the damage. Damage to roots is often the main result of negligent construction practice. Usually trees don't show visible damage until after the crews are long gone, which is why I try to call it out wherever I see it and leave it to the pros to assess.
