I also live on 45th ave n. We do need one. I have seen more traffic and speeding down the street due to 46th and 44 having speed bumps. I worry that one of my kids will get hit by a car. Cats and other animals getting ran over. There is a guy on my block that is painting cat and squirrel body prints on the street were they get hit. Something needs to be done about this!

Erin: Sorry for the delay. With the MLK parade all hands were needed to prepare for the event, now unfortunately the asphalt plant is closed this week for repairs, so the project is scheduled for 07/11/16 .

Edward & Randy: What section on 45th Avenue N?

49th AVE is just as bad. We get the pass thru from Red Mesa/4th St thru to 16th ST. I've come close to getting run down a few times trying to get something from the car parked out on the curb.

Michael I live in 800 block of 45th ave n people going to 4th have a 2 block run with no speed controls I have a speed gun and I clocked people going as fast as 45-50 mph coming off 9th street and even faster coming from 7th street.

We do not have a recent speed study in this area. I can schedule a count and advise you of our findings and recommendations.

Twenty-four hour traffic studies have been completed and the average operating speed was recorded at 33.57 MPH. In order to have speed humps considered 24-hour operating speeds must exceed 35 MPH.

Looks like we are just going to have to get use to keeping our kids off 45th ave due to higher traffic and speeding. When was the speed test done? I didn't see anything on the road. Can we get a stop sign at 45th ave and 8 street?

Micheal Fredrick the speed limit is 25 mph I have not seen any such traffic study I am retired and i am home all day all I have seen and clocked people driving up to 45 mph so well just wait till someone is killed then you and the city can answer that law suit.

City Council has restricted the use of speed humps to roadways with a 24-hour average operating speed of 35 MPH or higher, which is 10 MPH above the posted speed limit. The same 10 MPH grace given by the Police or the judicial system.

So for 1.5 MPH our kids and pets and walkers are at risk what your saying go ahead use 45th ave as a speedway cause the city don't care I will have to have a word with my council person and see if this is really their intent.
