Description
The property is not being maintained according to city code. A tractor and pickup have been parked on the back lawn for well over a year and now a car has been left there. An elderly man used to live there, has been gone for well over 6 months. Didn't complain then as we were trying to cut him some slack. Family is not cutting grass, driveway is cracked/in disrepair, roof deteriorating, grass growing high in several areas. Nobody living there-looks like abandoned property in an inner city or Appalachia, complete with an ancient tractor. Our condos are nice, as is the city. Hoping for some enforcement so neighborhood, views, etc. etc. are consistent with what a city like Saline should be. Thank You very much for your attention to this.

It's been a full month and nothing has been done yet. The three vehicles-two of them there for years-are still there and the property is as sloppy as ever. Does the city have any plans to address this, or are local politics preventing this? I investigated somewhat and discovered that the property is owned by an older family from Saline-used to be a farm there, that taxes are in arrears and that there has been discussion regarding possibly selling the property, currently in trust, to a developer.
I understand the possible delicate issues involved in such situations, but code violations shouldn't be overlooked, even when good 'ole boy politics might in play. At this point I'm wondering if it might be wise to involve some of our neighbors in this.
Come on, Saline can't pretend to be a 21st century, cutting edge community while having one foot firmly anchored in small-town rural politics. Please address this, folks, I know the community is better than this.
