Our business is across the street from this ever growing encampment. There is no place for employees to park. When is the city going to help the hard working businesses in this area? My employees are afraid and my clients refuse to come to our location. The stench of human waste and the sight of rats, dead and alive is disgusting. I wish this was an election year for the city of Oakland, because none of the elected officials would be re-elected.

My business is on wood street, Yes this situation is chasing away customers, eroding the business. Customers from out of town are aghast at these conditions. I was just personally physically threatened by belligerent camper. Called police. They told me to buy a gun. Ok thanks.

Thank you mayor Libby for doing nothing. OPD is probably been told not to do anything either. Where is it written that just because one is homeless, that the laws don't apply, it must apply only in libbyland

City of Oakland Public Works Department addressed this issue on 08/24/2016, service request #677024.

This issue is CLOSED, really! You need to send someone to Libby Land and see for yourself. Thank you Simplyblu, for naming this area). This place grows by the day. They have cut holes in the fence and are now moving onto the railroad property. It's not visible from Wood Street, if you look from the overpass on West Grand you will see the expanding encampment.

Obviously Public Works did not get the memo, this issue is on going here in LibbyLand (thank you Simplyblu for the name). I am here at work and nothing has been resolved. The massive homeless encampment is still outside my front door, my employees have no parking, they are afraid and the smell and the rats are DISGUSTING. We pay our taxes, oh and that means we pay your city wages! Get someone down here to clean this up NOW!

I really believe that public works is told not to clean these encampments up. Feel free to use the name Libbyland anytime
