Description
So apparently one posting isn't sufficient to solve this problem. The manhole cover is STILL an issue. I personally witnessed over a dozen cars awkwardly hit the manhole cover - if they had lower profile tires, there would have been damage.
ALSO, the turn lanes haven't been striped, and the center turn lane is TOO WIDE, so I've been nearly hit by people passing on the right in front of Publix.
FINALLY, our dearest Rachel Greenlee is too incompetent to use email (or ignores perfectly respectful email), rendering the original recommendation to coordinate with her USELESS.
This is infuriating.
Someone please follow up with me before this goes thermonuclear.

Agree with Bofdem that center turn lane is too wide. Pleased, though, that there's a SB turn-in lane for Publix.
In general, traffic engineering and public works have not distinguished themselves favorably on the CDR repaving. The completed section is not smooth. The striping is slow and weird.
The section south of MVH is a disaster. We spent all of that time and money and did add any traffic lanes? Are you kidding me?

@Public Works Administrator
Really? I think you should see my email at 8:26pm last night, then her response (Rachel > me) timestamped 8:31am ET.

Is it really closed/fixed? Can someone from Public Works please take a close-up photo and prove it?
Because, to me, it's still a hump with a drop-down into the metal cover.
Sorry.

This is now WORSE.
There is a gravel filled pothole on the back side.
Someone is going to get hurt.
FIX THIS for gods sake.

There is really no excuse for this. This issue has now languished for four months. I thought I read it was AT&T's manhole. If that's true, I believe it; they're no better at manhole repair than internet service. I don't care who's it is. Get it fixed.
The entire CDR repaving program has been an embarrassment. Complete incompetence by the contractors, but we don't vote for them. We vote for Council and a Mayor; they hire staff. The staff is accountable to manage the contractors. Staff heads should roll. If they don't the voters will roll the heads they can.
