This abandoned home has a plywood sign left behind in the front yard along side yard clippings. The front door was never installed and instead is secured with rotting plywood. This property is affecting property values in the area.
I pass by this abandoned property every day on my commute. There is a small lien on this property, just like others in the immediate area. What else can be done by the county to bring the community peace of mind that ordinance issues will stop growing on problem properties?
This building was left with a plywood front door and the plywood address sign was taken down and thrown on the ground only feet away near the small pile of trash.
The county is reporting that the property owner has plans to finish the building permit in the near future. Years later it's still abandoned and boarded up with plywood (front door). Now trash piles are growing.
We looked this property up on the county's Permit Portal. I would suggest you do the same. You would be surprised how long this property has been sitting there with no final.
